The care given is the passion and pleasure of Yvonne Gruen Estrada, the owner/manager of Hidden Pastures. She has been working with and around horses all of her life. Managing several show barns in Florida and Texas. Although she boards and trains, her passion and calling is rehabilitating horses either from injury or helping them back to being a horse. She has found that the majority of barns have exchanged proper horse care at the cost of the making money. Yvonne enjoys teaching her horses people how to communicate and care for them. Helping everyone, one person at a time, that everything about horses should be met with patience and understanding. That allowing horses to live as they were intended may be tedious but well worth everything it takes to get there. Teaching about their digestion, hoof structure and proper herd behavior all of which ensures a Happy Healthy Horse!!!
Along with her husband Erik, and kids, Bradley & Izzy, they willingly give daily love and care to all their tenants, horse tenants that is! Even though Hidden Pastures certainly is relaxing and peaceful for the human breeds, our main concern is the horses. Yvonne believes there should be more out there speaking on behalf of the horse instead of the people. A lot of injury and abuse occurs when they are so misunderstood, both people and horses, which can be avoided through proper patience and education. There is no such thing as a horse expert this is a constant learning environment, nor is there such a thing as a stupid question! They are altogether providing a family environment for both people and horses, and love giving that peace of mind that your equine baby is well cared for.
Here at Hidden Pastures we only feed what a horse is designed to eat, therefore ensuring proper gut function and digestion. The results are fewer vet and farrier bills and injury. A full service facility only, which assures that all horses are receiving exactly what they need at all times. On a beautiful and well maintained 32 acres there is plenty of room to horse around. There are 11 oversized stalls and several paddocks with huge roomy shelters. Theres an arena, round pen and acreage to trail around on. We keep it small and private, meaning the only ones on the property are the tenants and their people. Anyone who would like to board or train here has to fill out an application to be accepted. The safety of everyone is top priority which includes 24/7 video surveillance, key pad locked gate and tack room, and they live onsite. Every horse has a extremely well monitored water and food intake and exit!
